Quite the job

Jan 26, 2006 by cmbower in Uncategorized

Here are some pics of the oil pan removal on this Grand Prix….it’s quite the job to get it out. Here’s a shot from underneath:

Here’s a shot from the passenger wheel well:

And here’s the rigging (factory correct) that holds the powertrain in place while I work underneath the car. By the way, I have over $500 in that little holder setup:

All in a days work! Man, my back hurts already ;-)

I did it again!

Well, I managed to do it again….I screwed up the site theme while formatting my last post. Sigh….I guess it’s a learning experience ;-)

I’ll fix it after work if I have time.

Psychic iPod?

Jan 26, 2006 by cmbower in Personal

So I come into work this morning with a fairly big job to get done (intake and oil pan on a ’99 Grand Prix), about 10.5 hours worth of work. Given my mood lately, I needed to listen to some music. I’m browsing through my iPod (nearly 3k songs on it) and I can’t decide which playlist or artist or album to listen to. So I decided to just let it randomly shuffle songs. Much to my amazement, it’s been playing exactly what I needed to hear. Is this friggin’ thing psychic? It started out with Freedom (George Michaels), went to Break Out (Swing Out Sister), then Knock on Wood (Ami Stewart), and several others that just seemed like just what I needed to hear.

Anyways, I ripped through the intake on this thing already and I’m getting ready to start the oil pan. It’s surprising how the right type of music can change your attitude!

As Always,

Chris
